investLogan has reached yet another milestone on its flagship project in Beenleigh as it announces top out on the highly anticipated commercial development, The York.
The construction achievement comes as workforce numbers peak and the $40 million development nears completion.
The seven-storey development is being undertaken by investLogan in a joint venture with Alder Developments. The York has been designed by Conrad Gargett and is being built by Alder Constructions.
investLogan Chair Steve Greenwood said the commercial hub will be delivered at a pivotal time for the Logan community.
“The York holds the key to the revitalisation of Beenleigh’s business community by creating a versatile commercial precinct where local businesses can join a communal hub where our economy is encouraged to not only grow but thrive,” Mr Greenwood said.
“This project will provide significant social and economic benefits to our wider Logan community and we are pleased to see construction meeting these important milestones as the completion date draws near.
“The York currently has 26 trades working on site and more than 100 construction workers and 16 apprentices as it edges towards completion later this year.”
As the first major commercial office development in the area in more than decade, The York will house a rare mixed-use precinct offering a total of 4,660sqm of commercial space including four Small Office Home Office (SOHO) apartments, a ground floor retail space, and a dual-level underground car park.
Alder Developments general manager Greg Tupicoff says the Logan business community is anticipating the project’s completion later this year.
“We are proud to announce The York has topped out well within its expected time frame with construction powering ahead and the first tenants expected to set up shop later this year,” said Mr Tupicoff.
“The project teams have been working hard to see this significant project come to fruition. Now this construction milestone has been achieved the removal of the scaffold will begin as the internal fit-out and works on the building’s façade are completed.”
Leasing opportunities are open for the precinct’s four SOHO apartments which offer 119.5sqm over two levels incorporating a potential residential area including an upstairs kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and a studio-style space for a combined living, dining and bedroom.
