Logan City: A land of opportunity

investLogan CEO, Todd Rohl has painted Logan City as a land of great opportunity in a presentation delivered at the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Heads Up: TOWARDS 2028 event on Tuesday 16 October.

The event focused on the growth of the Gold Coast and Logan economies over the next 10 years, with population and development activity expected to soar.

The presentation titled Logan City – Land of Opportunity demonstrated that forecast population growth and the household demographic would provide a number of possibilities for the City of Logan.

“The City’s population is growing every month by more than 500 people and the household structure is dominated by families, which opens the door to new development types that are affordable and enable ageing in place,” said Mr Rohl.

“How we go about creating these alternative housing types while still meeting the single detached house demand will be crucial to the structure of our city and how it lives and breathes.”

Mr Rohl also remarked that due to the population growth a clear pathway to employment would be critical to drive the Logan economy.

“The City will need to continue to facilitate and build on its economic strengths, assist small business and work with operators to create more employment opportunities in health, retail and helping small business,” he said.

Mr Rohl summed up the presentation by reiterating the need for a robust regional strategy that secures the future of Logan City and its surrounds.

“It is my view that a regional plan is essential, one that is visionary and invokes what our region may look like in years to come,” he said.

“If we create a vision, make a firm plan and work relentlessly to bring it to life, Logan will become a great city in a fantastic region.”
