What experience do you bring to the investLogan team?

I have been involved in the Development Industry in Southeast Queensland for more than 30 years, including approximately 20 years in private industry and 10 years in Local and State Government. While the past 12 months have been spent as one of the Principal Engineers at Economic Development Queensland, the majority of my career has been in Development Management roles where I have delivered both built form and land development projects for some of Australia’s most accomplished developers.

What are you looking forward to most about your role?

I am looking forward to being able to make a positive contribution to the City of Logan by driving innovative projects through the full life cycle of development from site identification and acquisition, through design and approval, finance, construction, and marketing and sales activities.

What are you hoping to achieve in your role?

I’m excited by the opportunity to Collaborate with Logan City Council and the local business community to identify needs and facilitate development proposals that meet those needs. I hope to contribute through my full range of skills that I have developed during my career to overcome the many challenges inherent in property development and leave a legacy of innovative property development projects that have met the needs of the people of Logan.

How would you like to see investLogan improve the City of Logan over the next 5 years?

By listening to the community and understanding their short and long term needs and then delivering development projects that leave a positive economic and social legacy. This could be by delivering projects that meet a specific social or community need or by facilitating development and investment on behalf of third parties that has a positive flow on effect to the local economy.

What is your favourite thing about the Logan community?

What excites me is the potential for growth within Logan through both the PDA’s and existing commercial and residential centres, combined with Logan’s geographical location between Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Ipswich makes Logan an incredible pivot point for local and regional commercial and residential development. Equally, the diversity of the population and commercial enterprise that exists within the City provides unique opportunities for development.

What are some of your passions outside of work?

Prior to my career in engineering and land development, I was involved in a full-time sports career which culminated in participation in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the 1985 World Cup, and the 1986 Commonwealth Games. Consequently, I am an avid sports fan but take a particular interest these days in Rugby, Cycling and Track & Field.

I have a passion for sports and classic cars from the 60’s and 70’s and am currently restoring a 1966 Datsun Fairlady to its former glory. I also love to travel, and have been fortunate enough to have travelled the world extensively, although COVID has curtailed that for now.
