investLogan welcomes new Company Secretary

Recently, investLogan welcomed Rebecca Freath as its Company Secretary. Rebecca joins the team with over 15 years of Company Secretary experience in the not-for-profit and government sector, and drive to deliver benefit to the Logan economy.

What experience do you bring to your role as Company Secretary at investLogan?

Following a start in the energy and resources sector, I have several years of experience working with community-based organisations including not-for-profit companies in aged care, disability services and public health.

What is your favourite thing about the Logan community?

My favourite thing about the Logan community is the sense of optimism, opportunity and renewal that you get when speaking with the local Councillors. I also love that Logan is this vibrant multicultural hub poised for the future.

What drives and motivates you in your role at investLogan?

I am driven by the opportunity to contribute to the direction of investLogan to return value for the benefit of the people and economy of Logan and Queensland. I believe that thriving communities mean social and economic benefit for more people, which in turn brings a wide range of benefits for the State.

How will your background in not-for-profit benefit investLogan?

My background has afforded the opportunity to build a strong understanding of purpose-led organisations, including how risk management and the governance systems of these organisations can be designed and scaled to be effective without being onerous.

What are you hoping to achieve during your time at investLogan?

Wherever I go, I carry a personal goal of building the resilience and sustainability of governance systems within an organisation while I am there, so that I can leave a legacy when I’m gone.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Once upon a time, travel with my family was the start and end of most of my spare time and daydreams.  International culinary explorations of the domestic kind have been the extent of our travels in recent times, together with planning and executing as many family trips to our magnificent Queensland island and beach destinations as possible.
