Construction Update: The York, Beenleigh

18th February 2021

Construction on The York, a major commercial development in Beenleigh, has reached new heights as it approaches completion set for mid-2021.

The joint venture between investLogan and Alder Developments is delivering on its commitment to injecting a $40m economic and jobs boom, with the project seeing 510 workers on site to date. Approximately 45 percent of site workers are from within 25 kilometres of Beenleigh.

investLogan Chair Steve Greenwood said The York was creating an incredible opportunity for the local community, as it boosts local jobs and enhances the face of Beenleigh’s business strip.

“We are extremely proud of how the development is shaping up, and it really has made its mark on the streetscape,” Mr Greenwood said.

“investLogan had always set out to create a project that not only delivers an exceptional project to the region, but also creates jobs for the community – both immediate and into the future.

“You will begin seeing the final two storeys and the roof being constructed over the next few months, with top out due in May.

“Once complete, The York will create 140 permanent jobs and will have a significant contribution to the vibrant, active precinct and laneway.”

Alder Constructions is progressing the interior of the building as the structure continues to rise, involving a range of tradespeople to create the internal office, small-office home-office (SOHO) and retail spaces.

Works are also set to begin within coming months on land and streetscaping the frontages on John Lane and York Street, in coordination with revitalisation works by Logan City Council.

Construction is on track to be completed in the middle of 2021, with individual tenancy fit outs taking place shortly after.
